EDUCATION:

UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI COLUMBIA, MO.
Master of Science Degree in Dairy Science, December, 1986.

Thesis Title: COMPARISON OF CULTURE MEDIA AND PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTATION FOR IN VITRO CULTURE OF MOUSE EMBRYOS.

The use of in situ embryo transfer from one animal to another is a major focus of research and investment by the animal agribusiness industry due to the opportunities to increase the number and quality of progeny from economically important livestock s pecies. However, current technologies for the manipulation and processing of embryos did not permit successful transfer with an accompanying high rate of viability. In vitro culture methods were therefore developed for bovine, ovine, and murine embryos t o increase viability of transferred concepti above levels available during this research.

CORNELL UNIVERSITY ITHACA, N.Y.
B.S. Degree in Animal Science, June 1981.

Undergraduate Minor: Reproductive Physiology, Anatomical, physiological, and pharmacological processes underlying the reproductive processes of livestock and model laboratory animal species. Included detailed study of reproductive cell biology, anat omical bases of gametogenesis, and structural characterization of reproductive tissues.

Honors Research conducted under Dr. Robert H. Foote. Project Title: Milk Progesterone Concentration and Production in Superovulated Holstein Cows.
